The REBO tour continues and here we are in Setauket, NY. Summer camps continued under the guidance of Tito Perez and it was encouraging to see the vast amount of players taking part. Tucked behind the World Gym, a no nonsense gym for those willing to work hard, were the courts. Each court filled with energetic kids ready to get started and give the REBO wall a go. It was a race among friends to see who got to go first and try out the latest piece of kit.
The girls, mesmerised by the sparkly rainbow design, couldn’t wait to get going and it soon became a competitive girls vs boys YOUvsWALL challenge of who could reach the highest rally. Each team worked together to keep improving their score and it was easy to see why the ‘Speed’ REBO walls are an important and useful training tool – their sudden increase of concentration, the team building skills and the pure enjoyment of hitting the ball were evident from the moment the first ball was struck. The cheers and celebrations as each team reached new high scores could be heard through the courts. It was an awesome day, keep up the great work!
